  1. analyse and interpret selected complex historical phenomena, processes, and structures using first- and second-order historical concepts
  2. analyse the contextual and perspective determination of exemplar historiographical interpretations, using theoretical-methodological approaches and paradigms in historical science
  3. analyse various representations of the past (in historiography, mass media, museums, film, literature, politics, and journalism) in terms of their context, perspectives, validity, and the nature of the media in which they are presented
  4. analyse and evaluate the function of history in the formation of individual and collective identities, the culture of remembrance, cultural memory, and the politics of history 
  5. create research question or hypothesis that has the characteristics of originality and revise your theses if they are refuted by evidence and argument
  6. choose a theoretical framework and research methodology that are consistent with the research question or hypothesis
  7. conduct a more extensive research that requires work on primary and secondary sources, including those in world languages
  8. create various forms of oral, written and other professional works adapted to their intended audience
  9. practice and encourage professional responsibility and academic ethics respecting religious, national, gender, political and social differences
  10. react with arguments to abuses of the past in historiography and public discourse
