  1. communicate in standard Swedish at a high level in writing and in speech, understand and critically evaluate complex general and academic texts in the Swedish language with regard to form, style and content, and describe, comment and consider various aspects of contemporary Swedish society in a wider context
  2. describe and contextualise the historical development of Scandinavian cinema using critical analysis in the relevant vocabulary of film theory and history, and interpret individual films using the filmological analytical apparatus and comparative analysis in the context of European and world film production;
  3. describe and analyse the Swedish lexicon from the perspective of various linguistic disciplines using linguistic metalanguage and explain its presentation in various lexicographic manuals
  4. possess knowledge of the morphology and syntax of a second Scandinavian language up to the high B2 level, understand moderately complex texts in that language and report on them
  5. explain the main principles and concepts of several theoretical paradigms in translation science as well as different models of translation ethics and their implications
  6. identify translation problems and critically consider potential solutions resulting from the application of different translation strategies and procedures as well as justify and argue their own translation decisions using the metalanguage and the conceptual apparatus of contemporary translation theories
  7. independently collect and critically evaluate academic and scientific literature necessary for their own research in problem areas in their profession
  8. evaluate and effectively use various printed and electronic resources and tools relevant to problem areas in their profession
  9. present the results of their own academic work orally in a communicatively effective manner, in Swedish and in Croatian
  10. assess their own interests and competences and choose appropriate areas and methods for continuing formal or independent lifelong education
