  1. explain basic concepts and methods of literary theory, describe its relevant approaches and name their representatives
  2. apply concepts and methods of literary theory to the analysis of literary texts and other cultural phenomena
  3. classify and explain forms and conditions of production and reception of literary texts and other cultural phenomena in different environments and contexts
  4. name the periods of world literary history, recognise and describe their main characteristics, name their representatives and their key works
  5. summarise, explain and comment the key literary-theoretical and literary-historical texts
  6. analyse literary texts in respect to being a part of specific literary-historical periods and genres
  7. recognise and describe the relevant characteristics of periods in Croatian literary history, as well as their representative texts, and to relate them to European and global context
  8. apply concepts and methods of literary scholarship to the comparison of various phenomena in Croatian literature with related phenomena in European and world literature
  9. define basic concepts of theatre theory, describe periods and styles in the historical development of theatre, name their key representatives and their fundamental works
  10. apply concepts and methods of theatre studies to the analysis of dramatic texts and performances
  11. define basic concepts of film theory, describe periods and styles in the historical development of film, name their key representatives and their fundamental works
  12. apply concepts and methods of film studies to the analysis of film and related audiovisual works
  13. evaluate individual interests and competences and choose the appropriate areas for continuing education
  14. critically interpret and discuss contemporary research literature in one's respective discipline as well as other disciplines in the fields of humanities and social sciences
  15. independently produce academic texts of different genres in accordance with the principles of academic ethics and make oral presentations of research and scholarly findings in both Croatian and a foreign language
